Note:  You'll need to build up Rand, if you haven't been using.  Do what you did to build up Nina, or just start using him instead of Bow.

Evrai

Evrai is the big building on that big island south of Guntz.  You can change party members at the Inn to the south of Evrai.  Enter Evrai.  Talk to everyone.  The Jewel will pop up with everyone that you talk to.  Once you've spoken to everyone (be sure to go in the buildings), try to leave.  Turns out you can't.  Talk to everyone (check out the jewel now!).  Go into the building with the woman (Claris) who didn't like you, and talk to her.  She should tell you that she's part of the Resistance against the Church of St. Evans, and she'll help you get out.  Hop down the toilet

Cavern under Evrai

Your goal is to get out of here.  There isn't any treasure.  Make your way down and south as rapidly as possible.  I believe there's a hole you can fall down to speed this up.  I can't remember much about the monsters, except that they're nasty.  You reach the exit you'll wind up in the Inn south of Evrai.  You'll get a rest there.  Search the place for the Charm Rod and go fishing, if you haven't already.

Cot Land

Cot Land is your next destination.  It's the town south of Farm Town.  You'll need Katt to smash through the rocks, and you'll to have spoken with Claris to get past the guard.  Talk to everyone.  When you enter the first building you'll meet Tiga, the leader of the Resistance.  He'll fall in love with Katt, and tell you that the Resistance needs money.  The sponser of the Resistance is at the Thieve's Tomb in the desert.  You'll need to go help, since the sponser hasn't been heard from in a while.

The Thieve's Tomb

The Angel spell will be your best friend in this place, so go ahead and bring a Wind shamanized Nina.  That'll also enable you to fly there.  The Thieve's Tomb is south and slightly west of High Fort (south of that lake).  Just be sure to bring someone who can cast exit, or you'll have a hell of a time getting out of here once you reach the bottom.

Monsters are a fish-thing (Crocworm?), Sheefs (can critical hit and perform the Zombie attack), and Anubis (fast and has some strong spells).  There might be a spider monster as well; I can't remember.  Both the spider and Crocworm are very rare, and easy to kill anyway.  Sheefs and Anubi are undead, and can wiped-out by a Fireball or Angel spell.  The Sheefs will sometimes drop an Elmore Sword (sacred weapon) or the Demon Dagger (Sten's best weapon).

1st floor:  Talk to the people, if you wish.  Go to the steps leading down.

2nd floor:  Touching one of the moving holes drops you to the 3rd floor.  Nothing in the chests is particularly good.  Just go ahead and fall down a hole.

3rd floor:  Go ahead and talk to the old man.  Fights occur practically every five steps down here.  The chest south of you holds the Kramer Bracelet.  You can win the Starr Sword and the Ninja Mail by fighting on one of the mystery faces, but they aren't particularly good.  To get to the exit at the north, just keep fighting on the yellow, happy face until you get the message "Found the Secret Shortcut!"  You'll warp from where ever you are to the exit.  Go through.

Make your way through this room, and you'll see that Patty has managed to cage herself.  Step on the floor plate in front of where she's pacing to free her.  Follow her north through the exit.  You'll see her open a chest.  Search the empty chest to find a lever that opens a doorway.  Go through, open the chest to get the Evidence, and exit the room.  Patty will bump into you and then run off.  She just stole the evidence from you.  Go back until you're in the room with all those faces again.  Cast Exit to get the hell out of there.  Otherwise, you'll have to walk out -- which involves slipping past those moving holes.  Have fun.

Cot Land again

Have Katt smash through the rocks.  Talk to Tiga.  He'll decide he's going to marry Katt.  You'll be given the option of fighting him over it.  Ryu will do it solo if you decide to fight.  He'll lose.  When Ryu loses (or if you chose not to fight) you'll get a cinema scene.  Katt will leave your party.  Talk to a Dragon Idol to fill the gap. Your next stop is Bando.

Bando

Going south from Cot Land and just going along will eventually bring you to this place.  The Great Bird or Rand's roll are the only ways to get here quickly.  Sacred weapons are your best friend here; be sure to equip Ryu with the Sole Sword or the Elmore Sword.  Jean should be equipped the same, and Sten should be armed with the Silver Dagger.  You'll definately need to bring a healer.  A sorceress won't be of much use against the wandering monsters, but will be helpful against the boss.

Monsters are the D. Spider (weak and rare), a Poltergiest type, a Will-O'-Wisp type, and somthing that looks like an empty suit of armor.  The last three are all of the Spirit class -- only a sacred weapon will do full damage.  The Will-O'-Wisp type can cast both Sap and Drain.  If you're using Bow as your healer, go ahead and have him use Shot.  You'll be attacked almost constantly.  If you brought a sorceress, go ahead and have her use healing items (Brass Staff or Mother Robe) to restore lost HP to party members.

When you enter Bando, you'll find that the faithful are gone; the Resistacne didn't find anyone.  Talk to Tiga.  Katt will get bored and whack the wall with her staff.  This will reveal a secret passage.  Go through to enter the Bando Catacombs.

Level 1:  Go north until you're attacked by a warrior of St. Evans.  Don't bother using magic on  him; just whack away until he falls.  Continue north until you see the priest of Bando (incidentally, he's named Manson) break cover and run.  Follow him down the steps.

Level 2:  You'll now be in the moving corrider.  Just keep stepping on the arrow point east until the corridor stops moving (stops making noise).  Head east, go through the exit, and take the steps.

Level 3:  Go north until you reach either an exit or some steps; I can't remember which one it'll be.  Go through/take them.

Heart of the Catacomb:  Go south and along the path until you reach the path that'll take you to the platform in the center.  Just before you reach said platform, be sure to heal the party and max out Ryu's AP.

When you confront Manson, he'll turn into a demon and send three powerful Zombies after you.  They have around 600 HP each.  Use a Dragon Attack if you're willing to use Wise Balls.  Use Fire Magic and normal attacks, otherwise.  Well, use them if you're going to use the Dragon Attack, too. The Zombies can cast Sap and Drain.

When you win, Manson will attack.  If you defeat him, you'll get a rod that'll enable you to enter and leave Evrai whenever you wish.

Once you've won, go ahead and explore every part of the Catacomb.  You won't have to worry about wandering monsters unless you leave and re-enter later.  You should have found 1000 coins, the Snake Staff, and some prisoners before you leave the Catacomb.

When you do leave, you'll find Katt and Tiga disguised as a nun and a priest.  Tiga will then leave.  Go ahead and tell Katt you're angry if you want to make her happy.  Return to Cot Land.  Talk to Tiga; you'll probably fail his little test as to whether or not you know the teachings of St. Evans.  Tiga, Katt, and the Resistance will go to Claris's house in Evrai.

The Grand Church

Preparations:  If you have the Cook-carpenter, cook up some Wise Balls and Biscuits.  In any case, bring as many group healing items as you can, and take four or five Shave Ices.  You must bring Rand, so make sure his level is about equal to the rest of party, if you haven't been using him.

When you're ready, fly down to Evrai.  Go to the Inn south of Evrai and change party members, if you wish.  Enter Evrai, go to Claris's house, and talk to Tiga when you're ready.

Tell the guard "Evans," and you'll be able to enter the Grand Church.  He'll attack if you give him the wrong answer; he's easy to defeat.  Go straight north to reach the congregational hall.  Once your in the congregational hall, talk to Tiga and take your place in the pews.

Habaraku, founder of the Church of St. Evans, will give a sermon.  When it's over with, Claris and Tiga will be dead, Katt will rejoin your party, and the Resistance will flee.  When Katt rejoins, you'll be given one last chance to choose party members.  Remember, Rand will have to be in it.  Go through the door that Habaraku left through.  You'll find Habaraku and Ray.  At Habaraku's orders, Ray will attack.  He'll turn into a dragon.

Round one, use Holy Shields on all of your party members.  Ray will bite.  Round two, put everyone on defense and hope for the best, because Ray will blast the bejezus out of you.  If Ryu survives, you'll see a dragon super-impose itself on him.  Round three, have Ryu use the new G. Dragon spell.  If Ryu is slower than Ray, than you better use a group healing item.  The fight ends when Ryu uses G. Dragon.

Ray will explain what he had done, will ask you to rescue Daisy and stop Habaraku, and will then die.  Heal your party and go up the stairs.

The monsters you meet in the Grand Church are actually pretty easy to kill.  R. Slugs are probably the most dangerous.  Assasins can drop Biscuits.

Basically, keep going up until you reach Daisy.  Put Rand in the lead to smash the wall.  Keep going up.  Eventually, you'll reach a wall, that when smashed, will trigger a trap meant to smash the smasher.  Rand will ask the party to leave, since he doesn't want to die in front of them.  Once they've left, Daisy will show up, knock Rand out of the trap, and be crushed by it.  Rand will go up, and rejoin the party.

Continue on up, and get any chests you see.  Eventually, you'll reach the top of the church.  When you're there, go west until Habaraku's Archers attack (there's two of them; they'll go one at a time).  The Archers can critical hit.  They have around 200 to 250 HP.  Just whack away at them.  When you kill them both, Habaraku will flee.  I've heard that if you jump off the southern Archer ledge you can get some treasure (though you'll have to make your way back up).  Follow Habaraku if you wish to continue on your way.  A ledge will give him a ride down.  Jump off after it.

You'll arrive at a three-way fork.  West (treasure?), northeast (treasure?), or north (treasure and stairs up).

Some correction and info courtesy or JCarson:  Another minor thing I came across, from your walk through for BoFII.  During the attack on the grand church, after Ray has been killed, and you're up on the roof with the archers, it IS possible to get treasureby walking off the southern archer platform. Namely, the skullBR, which 'Has mysterious powers?'. You fall down the pit on the left that you passed when you first entered the church, and can return to the first floor by going up a flight of stairs, lowering a gate, and coming out of the left door on the first floor. Furthermore, once you fall off the platform from the top after habaraku, you have a three waysplit, and have marked 'Treasure?' for a few of the directions. I knowthe path that leads to the west door leads to stairs and a gate, with an exit to the first floor of the church again <this time the door on theright that you passed when you first entered> The door on the path to the east leads to <I think> the diamondBR, which has 'Mysteriouspowers'. The door to the immediate north leads to the RainbowCL, and stairs up to the moving platform room.

You'll be in a room containing no monsters with a multi-directional moving platform in it.  Stepping on an arrow sends the platform in the indicated direction.  You need to make your way to both the other side of the room and the other side of the platform.  Dropping into the pit that takes up most of this room drops you into the room below.  The chest contains the Crimson Robe.  I don't think it's possible to reach the chest and get to the stairs on the same trip.

Continuing, you'll reach a room with a narrow path going up the middle.  A voice will warn you to leave.  Going up the path will result in your party being hit with lasers; keep an eye on your HP.  As soon as you're past the last laser projecters, heal your whole party and max out Ryu's AP.  Go forward and talk to the Old Man in the machine.

The Guard Eyes will attack.

When you win, the Grand Church of St. Evans will be destroyed.  You'll escape.  If you were able to save the Old Man, you'll find out that he is Ganer (Ryu's father).

Flying Town Ship

If you want to see the game's sad ending, you can't have this.  If you want it anyway, you first need to have gotten Eichichi in Guntz.  You'll also have to rescue Ganer.  Once you've done both, head down into the well.  Eichichi will figure out what it does, and Ganer will power it.  It'll turn out that Town Ship has been built on top of a Flying Fortress.  Town Ship is slow (it moves at walking speed), and needs a fairly large area to land.  But considering that you can now take home with you . . .

Earth and Holy Shamans

With the fall of Evrai you can now claim the Earth and Holy Shamans.  The Earth Shaman (if you met the requirements to get her) will be in Diasy's field in Farm Town.  The Holy Shaman is in the first cell at that moving corridor in Bando (it won't move anymore; you'll also be meeting monsters again).  The Earth Shaman grants you access to Rand's Earth Critter form and Spar's Bud form.  The Holy Shaman grants you access to Jean's Paladin form and Nina's Angel Queen form.  Bit of a shame that you can't get these earlier . . .

Boombada

This secret spell can be acquired any time after you get the Great Bird.  Just go to Namanda, and go to the where the Bell Ringer is.  His partner is missing, and he'll ask you to help him ring the bells to announce prayer time.  The problem is ringing those bells.  Your timing has to be almost mind-numbingly good to pull it off, though you should go ahead and try.  I myself am unable to do it.  If someone could send me a screenshot of Boombada, I'd be grateful.  Boombada costs 20 AP, and reduces the current HP of all foes on-screen by half when it works; failure is probably determined on an individual basis.

Preparing for the end

Now that you have G. Dragon, you can now go big game hunting on the two islands.  If Town Ship flies, then just move it over to whichever island you wish to go hunting on and park it there.  If Town Ship doesn't fly, then you can reach Monster Island by whale and Night Rider Island by bird.  You'll need to bring Sten's Efreeti form to hunt Night Riders efficiently.  You can go hunting on Monster Island at any time after you have the whale, but this is when you can finally kill those K. Sludges.

You can use the Efreeti to hunt Chorkings at Monster Island (you might want to try to acquire at least 3 Shiny Bracelets).  I recommend you build all party members up to level 40 (at least) while at Monster Island.  Ryu can use the experience.  Then go to Night Rider Island and try to get a No Twin Rapier.  It's Jean's best weapon (it's a sacred weapon), and it can cast Angel.  At the very least, try to build up your favorite healer while at Night Rider Island.

As far as other items go. . . Bring About 18 Help Balls, 9 Life Plants, a couple of Van. Extract, all Moon Drops and Biscuits that you have, 9 or 18 Cure All, all of your Wise Balls (if you have Daiye and the Cook-carpenter, go ahead and aim for 27 of those; 2 Tuna + 1 F. Spice = Stamina, and 2 Tuna + 1 Stamina = Wise Ball -- this is the handiest recipe I have ever learned from Drag), 18 or 27 White Fruit (less, if you have a bunch of Wise Balls), all Roasts, Spare Ribs, Eggs, Unagi, Snapper, and Pile Worms (though if a particular grouping of one of those is like 2 or so, just leave it in the bank); go hunting or fishing if you wish to get more of those, and 9 Smokes.  Adjust this as you like; your inventory will be rather cluttered.  The Divide Ball may be of use.  Try to bring the Storm Ring (casts Thunder), a couple of Worth Rings (casts Death), a Holy Shield (casts Shield), a Brass Staff or Mother Robe (both cast Cure), and a Medusa Shield (casts Attack-Up).  If you got a No Twin Rapier, you better take that, too.  Once you've gotten the Life Bracelet at Monster Island, the Empire Sword, the Life Armor, whatever you want from Maniro, and whatever fish you want, put all of your Bait and your Rod in the bank; you'll never need them again.  If you can, raise the condition of your favorites to Super.

As a final note, do some batch cooking (if you can) for your favorite characters (if you haven't already).  Dinkers will make the most immediate difference, followed by Stamina and Power Food.

Gate

When you've finished all your preparations, head here (who doesn't matter yet).  Note that there's a Dragon Idol in town.  It seems that the people of Gate believe that the really big dragon is what's sucking the life out of the plants.  When you go to where the dragon's head is and talk to Father Hulk, the villagers will act on thier plan to kill the dragon.  They'll hurt it, but it won't die.  Both claws and the head will lift off the gates that they were covering, and demons will pour out of the claw-gates.  Father Hulk will ask you to find Patty, who seems to know a lot about the dragon at Gate.

Devil Shaman

While you're still in Gate, make your way to the left claw-gate and enter.  You'll find the Devil Shaman, who seems kind of wasted.  Leave.  With the Devil Shaman, you now have access to Bow's Rocket Dog form (the ultimate in hunting), Spar's Snap Dragon form, and Katt's Ninja Cat form.  Now, go to the Idol, and put Jean in your party (if he isn't in it already).  He'll make the task of finding Patty easier.

Locating Patty

If you try to summon the Great Bird, you'll see some demons chase it off.  If Town Ship can't fly, you're grounded.  If you haven't gotten the Empire Sword yet, now you never will -- you need the Great Bird to land in the right spot.

First, Warp to Cot Land, and talk to the in Tiga's house.  Now, Warp to Sima Fort and make your way to the Wild Cat Cafe.  Talk to everyone.  Now, Warp to High Fort and hop your way down to the Thieve's Tomb, or get as close as you can with the whale and make your way there.  Once you're there, talk to everyone on the first floor.

Now, a lot of people get thrown off here because someone really screwed up in translating this.  Go to Town Ship, not Home Town.  Patty is in Ryu's room at the characters' house.  Talk to her, and she'll go to Gate.  Shamanize your favorite characters, and Warp to Gate (or park Town Ship near it).  Get a rest if needed before going in.  Talk to the Idol in Gate if you need to stick your favorites in your party.

Destiny

Go and return to the big dragon.  Now the crap will hit the fan, for Father Hulk is really Habaraku.  Opening the central gate (the head-gate) requires the death of a member of the Dragon Tribe.  Since both Ryu and the big dragon are too tough, Habaraku's going to kill Patty.  The big dragon will knock Patty into the grass, and out of harm's way.  Habaraku will prepare to kill the dragon, and the dragon will ask you to flee.

Enough is enough.  Talk to Habaraku, and he'll fight you.

When you win, the dragon will return to its human form -- a woman with blue hair and large, copper-colored dragon wings.  She's Ryu's mother.  She'll tell you why she was in the shape of the big dragon, and will give ayou  choice -- to wait a hundred years, or to go in and try to slay the demon that she's trying to seal away.  If you choose to wait a hundred years, the game will end and you'll be treated to a scene of the demon conquering the world.

If you choose to go after the demon, Ryu's mother will open the gate (and die doing so).  Return to Town Ship, re-shamanize your characters (you may wish to replenish any used Wise Balls, raise condition to Super, and replenish items used fighting Habaraku; all are a "if you can"), and return with your favorite party to the central gate.  It's time to face your destiny.

This ends Part IV of my walkthrough.
